knowing so much and living so poorly

When considering Eugene Peterson’s question of knowing too much and living so poorly, it could be that we live poorly because we are crowding life with too many resources – too many links and too wide of a search for the else that may exist somewhere in our ever expanding sphere of perceived knowledge. My own life is not much improved by bloglines or too many books. I experience moments of delight when I can pay attention to a few things instead of being driven to distraction by multiple links to little bits of information that have little context and lean too heavily on so-called cleverness rather than artistic skill.
