dust in the past
January 22, 2006Last night as I heard Karen preach or re:verb as the tribe people at COTA like to call it, about our journey, our pilgrimage, our quest. While she "reverbed" I took a soul trip backward in time exploring my own journey to the place I am now, not only geographical - Seattle - but also spiritually.
About 18 months ago, my wife and I decided to embark in a pilgrimage of faith. The decision was harder than the actual move. Even though we were ready to grab our bags and start walking on November 2004, it was not until August 2005 that we took the first step toward the adventure.
We left all we knew, our ministerial position and the financial security that came with the job. For months we dreaded the moment we had to say goodbye to our loving family and friends. We kissed each others tears soaked cheeks. We exchanged blessings and off we went.
It took a lot of courage and insanity for us to realize the importance of this quest.
Last night I was asked, what I am doing here in Seattle, I answer: I’m in an adventure. God is taking me for a ride. I know what I am doing right now, but I do not know where I am going.
There is a lot of uncertainty and I am happy with it.
